The Goodness of God Rom 2:4 4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?
The new birth, and all that comes within it, it ours by the goodness of God. God's Will has always been Good to man.
I Jn 3:1-2 1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we shouldbe called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because itknew him not. 2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what weshall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
God is a Good Father. He is delighted to call us His children. He only hasGood in store for His family.And the BEST is yet to come!!
I Jn 4:7-10 7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one thatloveth is born of God, and knoweth God. 8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
There it is: God is Love. God isGood. If people don't know that, they are ignorant of the Word of God, because it certainly declares HisGoodness in no uncertain terms
Gen 1:4 4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
The first thing recorded in the new heaven and earth was something that Goddid- and it was GOOD.
Gen 1:10 10 And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waterscalled he Seas: and God saw that it was good.
More Goodness.
Gen 1:12 12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind,and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
More Goodness.
Gen 1:18 18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light fromthe darkness: and God saw that it was good.
Still More Goodness.
Gen 1:21 21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
More and More Goodness.
Gen 1:25 25 And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
Not getting tired of Goodness.
Gen 1:31 31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good.And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
And there you have it:EVERYTHING He did was not just Good, but VERYGOOD!! How do you like that?!!! If God did all of this GOOD to make the earth good for man and to bless him, why and how could God ever change to bring that which is not Good?
Gen 2:9 9 And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
Evil is the opposite of Good, just like darkness is the opposite of light. God gave man the freedom of will. ButHis Will was onlyGOOD. (We have been paying attention so far, haven't we?)
Exod 18:9 9 And Jethro rejoiced for all the goodness which the LORD had done to Israel,whom he had delivered out of the hand of the Egyptians.
God's Will and actions to Israel were Good.
Num 14:7-8 7 And they spake unto all the company of the children of Israel, saying,The land, which we passed through to search it, is an exceeding good land. 8 If the LORD delight in us, then he will bring us into this land, and giveit us; a land which floweth with milk and honey.
The promise to Israel was the Promised Land. And it was aGOOD place!!
Deut 10:12-14 12 And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul, 13 To keep the commandments of the LORD, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good?
God even gave the law for a purpose: FOR THE GOOD of Israel.
Ps 34:8 8 O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. Ps 65:11 11 Thou crownest the year with thy goodness; and thy paths drop fatness.
Oh my GOODNESS: that's a lot ofgoodness isn't it?!
Ps 100:5 5 For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endurethto all generations. Ps 103:5 5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewedlike the eagle's. Ps 106:1 1 Praise ye the LORD. O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever. Ps 107:8-9 8 Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! 9 For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.
The summary of all of God's Will and Actions to man are simple:GOOD.
Ps 119:39 39 Turn away my reproach which I fear: for thy judgments are good.
God is just: thus His judgements areGOOD also. When man is wrong, God is right in telling man that he is wrong and to change. It isGOOD to get man back to doing the right thing.
Eccl 2:24 24 There is nothing better for a man, than that he should eat and drink,and that he should make his soul enjoy good in his labour. This also I saw,that it was from the hand of God.
Man should enjoy all the Goodness of Godin his life; enjoy the good in his labour.
1 Tim 6:17 17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;
God's Will is Goodness to man, and to His children!
He gave us eternal life in Christ Jesus...He has made us the righteousness of God...He will supply all of our need according to His riches in glory...He is sending His Son for us to gather us together unto Him....
