Married In The Eyes of God

Genesis 2:7

And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Genesis 2:15

And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.

Genesis 2:18

And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.

What is a help meet? The word "meet" is the Hebrew. `ezer, ay'-zer, Hebrew Stg 5828; from Hebrew 5826 (`azar); aid :- help. God was concerned for His man and knowing how His own Heart ached to be loved and to love someone He made man and then remembering the ache of loneliness He made a help meet; someone to aid (to help) man be his best for God.

Genesis 2:21-24

And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; [22] And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. [23] And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. [24] Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh

.

When we marry God wants us to leave it all behind. We are now one with our spouse and our Mommies and our Daddies are no longer the head of our household. The husband has taken on that role. The husband and the wife are as one.

Proverbs 5:18-19

Let thy fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth. [19] Let her be as the loving hind and pleasant roe; let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; and be thou ravished always with her love.

Hebrews 13:4

Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.

Men, don't even think of betraying your wife! Let HER satisfy you let HER get you foaming at the mouth. It is available to keep the fire burning because God says you can. You should be wining her and dining her, keeping things fresh and alive. One flesh, people that's what the Word says, that's what it means! You break her heart you break your heart.

.

Proverbs 12:4

A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones.

What can I say that isn't already said in this one verse? I guess the question here is what makes a virtuous woman? read Proverbs 31 for an explanation.

Proverbs 31:10

Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.

Your not going to find anything more precious than a wonderful woman of God. A woman who will stand for God and stand for her man. More valuable than precious gems is this woman whom you have married. Cherish her love her and show her off to the world

Ladies a virtuous woman is a crown to her husband. That means she makes him proud she speaks highly of him she is the finest point of his life.

Eccles. 4:9-12

Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. [10] For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up. [11] Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone? [12] And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

Aren't these verses fantastic? Men you don't let anyone go after your woman. You protect her, you speak up for her, you stand by her come hell or high water...you just don't let anyone come into your family and attack. I mean this mentally, physically, spiritually, we don't allow anyone to get at our family. Ladies, if someone is tearing down your man you stop them. I don't care if you think they are right. He is your man. You stand for him and you speak up for him. You don't allow anyone to go after him. Not your mom, your dad, your friends, a stranger, or an enemies. He's your man. You stand for him.

While it is important that you Stand Up for each other in a marriage, there is one that comes before our spouses.

Luke 10:27

And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.

People, we don't let anything come before God, not even your spouse. Its God first then our families. O.K.,?

1 Cor. 2:12

Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

1 Cor. 7:1-40

Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman (It means sexually, illegitimately ) [2] Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband. [3] Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband. [4] The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife. [5] Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency. [6] But I speak this by permission, and not of commandment. [7] For I would that all men were even as I myself. But every man hath his proper gift of God, one after this manner, and another after that.

You don't use sex as a weapon or leverage. You don't cut each other off. This is some absurd worldly idiocy propagated by fools who's marriages are bound to be damned. Look if you've got a headache, then there is no better way to clear it up then by making love with your spouse. Its a healing time that builds the marriage and keeps it sweet. If you want to be appreciated, paid attention to, loved, heard, counseled, then here is how to get it going. And people be loving about it..... good golly.

[8] I say therefore to the unmarried and widows, It is good for them if they abide even as I. [9] But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn (lust). [10] And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband: [11] But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife. [12] But to the rest speak I, not the Lord: If any brother hath a wife that believeth not, and she be pleased to dwell with him, let him not put her away. [13] And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him. [14] For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy. [15] But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace. (God has called us to peace.... Look if your in a situation where your getting abused, your fighting for your life (or health) your in constant torment and your spouse will not allow you to have peace, to stand for God, then let God deal with your spouse, you get out. How can you stand for God if your broken up? Remember Luke 10:27? Love God first people, and if your spouse won't allow that then you've got to choose God.) [16] For what knowest thou, O wife, whether thou shalt save thy husband? or how knowest thou, O man, whether thou shalt save thy wife? [25] Now concerning virgins I have no commandment of the Lord: yet I give my judgment, as one that hath obtained mercy of the Lord to be faithful. [26] I suppose therefore that this is good for the present distress, I say, that it is good for a man so to be. [27] Art thou bound unto a wife? seek not to be loosed. Art thou loosed from a wife? seek not a wife. [28] But and if thou marry, thou hast not sinned; and if a virgin marry, she hath not sinned. Nevertheless such shall have trouble in the flesh: but I spare you. [29] But this I say, brethren, the time is short: it remaineth, that both they that have wives be as though they had none; [30] And they that weep, as though they wept not; and they that rejoice, as though they rejoiced not; and they that buy, as though they possessed not; [31] And they that use this world, as not abusing it: for the fashion of this world passeth away. [32] But I would have you without carefulness. He that is unmarried careth for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please the Lord: [33] But he that is married careth for the things that are of the world, how he may please his wife. [34] There is difference also between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman careth for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit: but she that is married careth for the things of the world, how she may please her husband. [35] And this I speak for your own profit; not that I may cast a snare upon you, but for that which is comely, and that ye may attend upon the Lord without distraction. [36] But if any man think that he behaveth himself uncomely toward his virgin, if she pass the flower of her age, and need so require, let him do what he will, he sinneth not: let them (her) marry.

The man being spoken of here is the father... Its saying that ...look Dad if your daughter wants to marry and her heart is set then let her get married. I know she can do more for the Lord if she's single; but if her mind is set and this is where her heart is then give her in marriage... its not a sin.

[37] Nevertheless he that standeth stedfast in his heart, having no necessity, but hath power over his own will, and hath so decreed in his heart that he will keep his virgin, doeth well. [38] So then he that giveth her in marriage doeth well; but he that giveth her not in marriage doeth better. [39] The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband liveth; but if her husband be dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord. [40] But she is happier if she so abide, after my judgment: and I think also that I have the Spirit of God.

People, Paul wasn't against marriage. He just wanted free movement of the Word. If you don't feel a need to get married then don't. Its that simple. And if all you can think about is sharing your Christian life with someone then do it. Its not a sin either way. Its all Grace and God wants Grace to abound in our lives. He just wants the best for us.

1 Cor. 11:3

But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

See ladies, this is what Paul was thinking of. When you get married you can no longer hop on a plane and run to Borneo to speak the Word. Now you have a man to answer to and a household to take care of. Does this stop you from doing God's will? Absolutely not; but it does limit you. You've lost the "free movement" in certain areas of your life. Am I clear on this?

1 Cor. 11:8-9

For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man. [9] Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.

Ephes. 2:10

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Ephes. 5:20-31

Giving thanks always for all things (every believer) unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; [21] Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear (reverence)of God. [22] Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.

Wives by your own deliberate freedom of will (you chose to get married) be loving, be submissive, be a "doulos" to your husband as unto the Lord. God not man, put the husband in this position.

[23] For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the savior of the body.

God made it the position of the husband to be lord of the wife and he functions as the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church. Look Christ is the life giver, the one who makes whole the church (the body of believers) and the husband makes whole and gives life to the marriage.

[24] Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.  [25] Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

Thnk about what Christ did for the church of the Bride (Israel). He cherished it, He nurtured it He gave his life for it. We husbands are supposed to be like that. Your wife, not your job, the house, the kids, or the car is to be the focus of your devotion..... only God comes before the wife. Jesus was the greatest "doulos" of all time. He didn't marry and have kids, he didn't go fly fishing or on separate vacations from the disciples. Why? because he had a bride, Israel was His Bride. He separated himself from the church of the bride only for a time which was for fasting and prayer. Even then he often brought the disciples with him. So are we to be with our wives. If you are going to expect her to turn her life over to serving you, you had damn sure better be putting your own selfish desires aside and taking care of her needs. As Christ so loved the church is what it says... that's what it means. That's your responsibility to your wife. I didn't write it... God did.

[26] That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, [27] That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. [28] So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. [29] For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church: [30] For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. [31] For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.

Col. 3:18-19

Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord. [19] Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.

1 Tim. 2:11-13

Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. [12] But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. [13] For Adam was first formed, then Eve.

Talk about a verse that gets abused! Boy the things that are being taught out there will curl your socks! No wonder women don't want to be good wives and men can be such lousy husbands. Look, its simple when you use the common sense God gave to all man.... "Woman" in verse. 11 is wife. If you read the context here it is talking about the wives of the prophets in the church. All he is saying here is woman you can ask all the questions you want at home; but in the church you need to hold your tongue and allow your husband to minister to the church. You have him to yourself at home; but in the church he has to minister to the questions and concerns of the church body because that is his job. "Silence" is that place that you get to when you come to an inner awareness and reality of the presence of Christ in you and you know when it is appropriate to speak up or when it is appropriate to remain silent. This is being done because you love the church and you want them to have the opportunity to get ministered to. God put your man in that position; respect it. When he's teaching God's Word or ministering to God's people he's not the man who fails to empty the trash, snores in his sleep, makes rude noises and spills his dinner on his tie.... he is the man who God has called out to feed the body. He's God's man and you are God's woman. We all have positions to fill within the body of Christ. "Suffer" in verse 12 is to direct or instruct. The phrase "to teach or to usurp" in verse 12 is speaking of to publicly debate. In the bible culture written of here there was an opportunity to discuss the teaching and for people to get it worked out in their own minds. They could check its validity, find it's applicability, and get it worked out in their hearts by discussing it. God says wife don't get into it here. When you get home then work it out with your husband; but here he is for the Church.

Titus 2:4-8

That they may teach the young women to be sober (wise), to love their husbands, to love their children, [5] To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed (blasphemeo, Greek Word defined as: to vilify; specially to speak impiously. [6] Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded (of the right mind) . [7] In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity, [8] Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.

1 Peter 3:1-2

Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives; [2] While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear.

1 Peter 3:7

Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.

Take care of your wife and protect her. She holds a different position than you in the household; but that's by loving subjection. Give her the honor due and don't forget that she is your sister in Christ. Treat her with the respect due a daughter of God, a sister in Christ a woman who loves your heavenly Father, God. And men... don't forget its grace. You weren't saved because you were good enough or you said the right things or walked perfectly. You were saved by grace (unmerited favor). Its by Grace. O.K.?

Col. 3:12-17

Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; [13] Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. [14] And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. [15] And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. [16] Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. [17] And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

May the grace and peace of God our Father rule in your hearts through His Son Jesus Christ. You are the Best!
