Getting Eternal

You become a Christian by receiving a gift from the heart of God. Salvation is a gift and it is not necessary for you to go anywhereto get it.  Receiving salvation is not dependent on what you DO, butwhat Jesus Christ DID for you.  Many think that receiving Christ dependson what they give up, or how much sin they confess.  Un-true.  Youbecome a Christian by believing that God raised Christ from the  deadand confessing him to be Lord in your life.

Isaiah 53:6
All we like sheep have gone astray;we have turned everyone to his own way; and the lord hath laid on him theiniquity of us all.

Everyone has turned their own way.  God has put on Jesus the Iniquityof us all.  No one can save themselves by their own efforts or goodworks.  God has already laid everyone's sins onto Jesus.

John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that hegave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have EVERLASTING life.

In this verse, God does not ask you to do anything but claim Jesus asyour savior and believe that God did all of this for you.  And believingis acting upon what the Word said He did for you.

A question may also come up in many minds -- Have I sinned so much that I cannot be saved by the blood of Jesus Christ? No. Noone has sinned so much that they cannot be saved by the blood of Jesus Christ.

Hebrews 7:25
Wherefore he is able also to savethem to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

Jesus has saved to the uttermost, even the people who sin the most STILL do not have to do any work. No one has to do anything but believe to receive what God has done for us all though the giving of his son, Jesus Christ.

Romans 10:9-10
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thy heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  For with the heart man believethunto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made untosalvation.

By confessing with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, you are acting on your believing. That takes NO work for your salvation!  Some people do get this salvation but still cannot believe that their salvation was so easy to receive.  This question might run through their mind:  Am I a child of God now?

I John 3:2
Beloved, now are we the sons of God and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that when he shall appear we shall see him as he is.

The Word says you are a son of God.  If you believe God raised Jesus Christ from the dead and you confess him as your Lord, then you are a son of God -- NOW!.

Because you have believed that God raised Jesus Christ from the dead and have confessed him as your Lord, you also are saved unto eternal life.

I John 5:13
These things have I written untoyou that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

If you believe on the name of  Jesus Christ, then you are a son of God now and  will forever have eternal life.
